God planted the vision for Restoration Church in the hearts of Pastors Don Horton and Tony Cribb in February of 1988. They were led to merge what was then two separate churches – Maranatha and Restoration Baptist – into one which they co-pastored.
From August 1988 until April 2004 the church was located on a 25 acre campus on I-85. During this time the church continued to grow and its life-giving ministry has impacted thousands in the Upstate area and around the world.
Regionally, church planting teams have been sent out to establish daughter churches in Pacolet, Landrum and Gaffney. In addition, the Lord has used Restoration to establish many churches and ministries internationally.
In 1999, God led Pastor Don to establish Restoration Fellowship International. RFI is made up of churches and ministries of like heart that co-labor together to impact nations. At this time Pastor Tony became the Senior Pastor of Restoration.
In June of 2003 we purchased the former Wacammaw Pottery Mall located on I-26 and the I-85 location was sold. Renovations began to convert the former mall into a world-class ministry facility for Restoration and all its related ministries.
In April 2004 our church family relocated to their new home. The new location is also home to the Spartanburg Expo Center and the Restoration Child Development Center.
We are very thankful for God’s goodness and for the fruitfulness we have experienced in ministry. Yet, we are even more excited about the future as we continue to seek the Lord and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit.
