Worship

Our worship is based upon the Bible. The following questions/answers will help you understand what the Bible says about worship.

Why Do We Worship God?
“You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve” (Matt. 4:10).
How Should We Worship God?
“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:23-24).
Why Do We Stand To Sing?
“Then the Levites...stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high” (2 Chron. 20:19). “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne...and crying out with a loud voice.” (Rev. 7:9-10).
Why Do We Clap Our Hands?
“Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph” (Psalm 47:1).
Why Do We Lift Our Hands?
“Thus I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name” (Ps. 63:4). “lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the lord” (Ps. 134:2). “Therefore I desire that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting” (1 Tim. 2:8).
